Brent, I have been selling Notes solutions for 20 years and no sale ever goes like that.

Customers want to save the money before they can actually spend it. The only thing where that happens is the none renewal of MS Office licenses, that's a real saving that you can bank, but the other savings you mentioned are not actually savings that you can take the money out. They just prevent you spending more.

Don't get me wrong, these savings can be big in Big companies.

In Asia (China excluded) the majority of the companies that you will deal with are SME's and they have been hurt a lot by the downturn.

Most don't have legal licenses for MS office so there's no saving there, Symphony is therefore same price is MS Office.

So its hard to show these companies that might have 500 or 1000 users a good saving.

The approach I have taken is that if they implement an application with workflow they can illuminate paper and filing and filling staff, thus making a real long term saving, this of course might include a Notes upgrade.

Nick

My question was how to change column TITLE text on views, and later on other folks talked about tabbed table titles. Neither of which is editable, which leaves some ugly design decisions when you try to multi-lingualise your application.

It really does look like oversight that these are still not editable, and during the answer, the suggestion was made that a resource bundle be made to allow multi-lingual oolumn titles, etc. Which is perfectly acceptible.

No - we're not asking you to auto-translate column contents - that would be insane.

A suitable workaround would be code that allowed an embedded view to have its column titles updated, for instance.

Given this clarification, any update on delivery time ?

---* Bill
